The Hacker Relay

Your name is .
In here, you're <ranan>.

The Hacker Relay is an anonymous Signal chat that works by assigning you a random identifier and relaying your messages to others. No one sees your profile name, phone number, Signal ID, or anything else.

To get in

Open Signal and send join to

HackerRelay.1337

That's the whole signup. You'll have a handle back in a few seconds.

01 How it works

You get a handle

When you message the bot, it hands you a random five-letter name. Something like ranan, or pipoz.

The Hacker Relay forwards your messages

Tag a user with @theirhandle and reply to individual messages (when not batched) to keep conversations going. Images and attachments are NOT relayed by The Hacker Relay.

Nothing to install

This is a normal Signal conversation between you and the relay with nothing else needed. We handle the routing, you handle the high-quality chats.

Not quite the wild west.

A small team of moderators make sure the chat is safe and isn't too abusive — but they can't see your data or identity. Play nice in the sandbox.

02 Joining, step by step

  1. Open Signal.
  2. Tap the search bar and look up HackerRelay.1337.
  3. Send it the word ‘join’
  4. It assigns you a handle, and you provide the chats.
